Motorcycle Tire Service

SSU Motorcycle Service knows your tires and wheels are important. We offer scratch free tire mounting using NOMAR tire equipment and state of the art balancing from snap on.

We stock a full line of Dunlop and Bridgestone tires. We can also special order any tire you want and have it delivered in 1-3 days. We also carry many other major brand name tires such as Michelin, Avon, Continental, and IRC just to name a few.

We also offer tire repair under certain conditions. Not all tires can be repaired safely and any repair we perform (other than installation of new tubes in tubed tires) is not meant to be a permanent solution.

We will also mount tires bought from internet supply houses under certain conditions. Please call for details.

We have great deals on Bridestone BT016 and Dunlop Q2 Qualifiers. Call us for details!

Attention Harley Davidson riders! Stop over paying for tires at your dealer! Call us now for our current specials!

I got a flat. Can you repair it.

Maybe. Certain punctures can be repaired with a mushroom plug. This style plugs goes inside the tire and has no possibility of working its way out. In the case of tubed tires, we will install a new tube.

My tires are bald. Can I still ride like this?

NO! Bald tires are unsafe. Stop riding the bike and get a new set ASAP if you are going to keep the motorcycle in service.

I need help deciding on which tire to choose. Can you help me?

Yes! Depending on your riding style and type of motorcycle or scooter you ride, we can help you select a great tire based on our own experience as riders as well as feedback from other riders and racers.

How long do tires last for?

Your milage may vary so they say! Depending on the rubber compound and what sort of riding style, you can get varying results. Most sport compounds do not last long and they are designed for high speed use. While they stick great, average milage on the streets can be anywhere from 2000-400 miles. Sport touring compounds get around 8000 miles out of a set and touring compounds will often get up to 15,000.

What brand is the best?

Well that is hard to say. Every tire has different handling characteristics. Honestly most brand name tires provide performance that most people will never fully tap. It is best to try a reputable brand name and see how you like them. We can give you some good suggestions based on our experience and others but in the end you will have to see what works for you. It took me quite a few sets before settling in on a brand I like.
